In 2020, the twenty-five annual Waterloo Wellington Children’s Groundwater Festival was planned to be celebrated,  due to recent events it is now delayed until 2021. We are currently offering many online water resources for students to do at home - simple water experiments.

In 2021, we hope to educate over 5,000 more local school children in grade 2 through 5 will participate in the Festival at the Waterloo Region Museum, in Kitchener. The  Festival is one of many Festivals held at various locations across the province, where more than 100,000 children will be educated about issues focusing around the water theme.

Maintaining groundwater quality and quantity in the years ahead will be extremely important for the economic growth and stability of the Waterloo and Wellington areas. The contamination of Walkerton’s water supply by E. coli has heightened everyone’s interest in the water system. The Festival is an excellent starting point for educating children about this important life force, water. We are planning new activities and doing research to make the program ever better, so the next generation is better educated and more environmentally aware. We can not do this without your ongoing support. Why not start the next year right and support this award winning, fun and interactive event that is focused totally around children, education and the environment!

“I did not know that you use so much water just for brushing you teeth… water is really important to us and we should not abuse it.”
